ABOUT CAD EAGER 2013

The Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka (IESL) in association with Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Ruhuna with one or more financial sponsorship is organized a Computer Aided Design (CAD) competition named “CAD EAGER 2013”, to stimulate undergraduates to develop design, intellectual, team-building, collaboration and presentation skills. IESL YSM decided to organize this event annually as a simultaneous event of the Techno Exhibition. Autodesk^® Inventor^® has agreed to give the financial sponsorship for the year of 2013.

WHY WE ORGANIZED THAT KIND OF COMPETITION

The Young Members’ Section of the IESL (IESL YMS) is organizing a competition for Mechanical Engineering Students In the upcoming Techno 2013 on 12the November 2013. The reason for organizing such a competition is to show the Young engineer's talents of using modern design software to the industry and to motivate the students to undertake design tasks.

Up to now there is no chance to show the talents of the Mechanical Engineering students. However some other study fields have already opened up avenues for their students to compete with each other and share the experience such as in Robot games/ software competitions

Therefore we at IESL YMS realized that this would be a disadvantage to our fellow Mechanical Engineering students and organized the IESL CAD EAGER 2013. This is a great chance to Mechanical Engineering Students to show their talents to the Industry and to the world.
